An inmate at the Norfolk City Jail has been charged in the killing of another inmate who died last week after being hospitalized since Oct. 14 with head injuries.
Larry Hill, spokesman for the Norfolk Police Department, said that Gregory Kinsey, 20, of Norfolk has been charged with voluntary manslaughter. Kinsey was a Norfolk resident who is serving time in the Norfolk City Jail.
No other information about Kinsey was available Monday night, Hill said.
Police believe that Kinsey is responsible for the death of 39-year-old Charles Robinson. Robinson was found injured by sheriff's deputies in the medical block of the Norfolk City Jail Oct. 14 about 1:45 p.m. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Robinson died at the hospital Nov. 8 about 9 a.m.
