Lewis A. Hodges Jr., 80, of the 4300 block of Airline Blvd., died Nov. 18, 1995.
Mr. Hodges, a retired postman, worked for the U.S.Postal Service for 30 years. He was a native of Portsmouth and a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Temple. He was also a member of the Mules Club, emeritus member of Eureke Club Inc., National Assn. of Letter Carriers, and Doric Lodge of Masons (NU)98.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn M. Hodges; one son, Lewis A. Hodges III; one sister, Alda Denson; one sister-in-law, Alta M. Brothers; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Wayman McCoy Jr. and Joseph Brothers; four nieces; four nephews; and a good friend, Agnes Garris.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mt. Hermon Baptist Temple by the Rev. Jessie Arrington. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Garden. The body will be at the church at noon Wednesday. The family and friends will assemble at the residence at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt.
