Ruby Johnson Leigh, 89, of 1401 N. High St., died Nov. 19, 1995.
A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. and Nannie Whitfield Johnson. She was the widow of George William Leigh Sr. Mrs. Leigh was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College and was a retired teacher at Newsoms and Drewryville Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Drewryville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Drewryville Woman's Club.
She is survived by a son, George W. Leigh Jr.; two grandsons, Mark B. Leigh and Michael S. Leigh, all of Virginia Beach; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Drewryville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lou Martin. Burial will follow in the Drewryville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 2:30 p.m., and suggests memorials be made to the Drewryville United Methodist Church, Drewryville, Va. 23844. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
