The American Red Cross is asking for help for 14 families who have been displaced after their homes were destroyed.
In the past three weeks, the homes of four families were destroyed by fire and 10 other families were displaced after high winds wrecked their homes during a storm Nov. 11.
The Red Cross is providing each family with temporary shelter and the means to pay for food, clothing and other items.
The disasters have drained the funds of the organization, which is asking mostly for donations.
Donations may be sent to the American Red Cross, Accomack County Chapter, P.O. Box 325, Temperanceville, Va. 23442. For information about becoming a Red Cross volunteer, call (804) 824-3285. by CNB
