Mary Crawford Chandler, 77, of Route 2, Box 39, formerly of Portsmouth, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, in the Pulaski Community Hospital.
She was born in Pulaski on April 22, 1918, and was the daughter of the late William S. Crawford and Lillie Minnick Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wallace M. Chandler Sr.
She is survived by her son, Wallace E. Chandler Jr. of Portsmouth; four sisters, Mrs. Mable Schatzman of Felicity, Ohio, Mrs. Nora Thornton of Pulaski, Mrs. Grace Turner of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Blanch Delp of Elk Creek, Va.; and a brother, Boyd Crawford of Reno, Nev.
Funeral services will be held today at 8 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. A second service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Gene V. Primm officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends Friday at Sturtevant Funeral Home from noon until 1 p.m.
