Helen Jean Alexander, of the 2800 block of Sunrise Ave., died Nov. 20, 1995.
Mrs. Alexander, the widow of Walter H. Alexander, was a packer at Norfolk Naval Supply Center for eight years. She was a native of Sanford, N.C., and a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the Elymiria Elizabeth Ten (NU)364.
Survivors include five daughters, Denise, Helena, Sharon Alexander, all of Chesapeake, Christina Primm of Ft. Sill, Okla., and Pamela Stephenson of Chesapeake; one son, Walter Arnette Alexander of Chesapeake; her mother, Marzella Gill Cuffee of Chesapeake; her stepfather, Kenneth Cuffee of Chesapeake; three brothers, Donnie Gill and Linsey Gill, both of Chesapeake, Charles Percell of Stanford, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an uncle, George Gill of Durham, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Donald Taylor. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Norfolk. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk. The Tents will assemble at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Thursday. Family and friends will assemble at 2800 Sunrise Ave., Chesapeake, on Friday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church.
