A Portsmouth man, shot in the chest in northern Suffolk over the weekend, was in stable condition Monday in Sentara-Norfolk General Hospital, police said.
Michael Langston, 29, of the 5800 block of Eric Court, was found about 1:21 a.m. Saturday in a yard in the 6300 block of Freeman Ave.in Huntersville. He had been shot in the chest with a large caliber weapon, said police spokesman Mike Simpkins.
Langston was flown by Nightingale emergency helicopter to the Norfolk hospital.
A 1977 Ford LTD with 30-day license tags was nearby, riddled with about 10 bullet holes. Simpkins said police do not know if the car belonged to Langston or whether he was in the car when he was shot.
