JANICE M. EASTMAN

Janice M. ``Leffel'' Eastman, 33, a resident of Chesapeake for 14 years, died of respiratory failure Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

She was born March 4, 1962, in Kirkland, to George E. and Frances M. (Ince) Leffel. The family moved in the mid-'70s to Yelm. She graduated from Yelm High School in 1980. She married Kenneth Kelly Eastman, Sept. 25, 1982, in Richmond, Va. They settled in the Chesapeake-Norfolk area. Mrs. Eastman worked for Baskin-Robbins, McDonald's and grocery stores. Her favorite job was with the school system in Chesapeake, as a teacher's aide. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and baking. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was also an avid reader.

Mrs. Eastman is survived by her parents, George and Frances Leffel, of Yelm; and two sisters, Georgia Schmidt of Olympia, and Ellen Scheffer of Stanwood; a niece, Sara Moriarty of Olympia; and a nephew, Mathew Moriarty of Olympia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kelly; and children, Kenneth William and Kelly Marie, on Dec. 23, 1994.

A private family gathering will be held. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Make A Wish Foundation. Inurnment will be in Olympic Memorial Gardens, Tumwater, Wash. Arrangements were by Twiford Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake.
