Elnora E. ``Mama Nora'' Rountree, 95, of the 4200 block of Pughsville Road, died Nov. 30, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mrs. Rountree, the widow of William T. Rountree, was a native of Nansemond County, Va. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, Shoulders Hill, Suffolk, where she was a former choir member and former member of Blooming Rose Club. She was also a member of the Chesapeake Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Willie A. Battle of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Alethia B. Spivey, Willie A. Ballard Jr., Evelyn M. Willis, Keith Roberts and Bruce E. Jenkins; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Eliza Battle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Union Baptist Church by the Rev. C.V. Russell Sr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
