Lucille Clayburn, 85, of the 1400 block of Halstead Ave., died Nov. 27, 1995, in Norfolk Community Hospital.
She was a native of Brunswick County, Va., and the widow of Alfred Clayburn. She was a member of Universal Baptist Church, Brooklyn, N.Y., where she served as deaconess, member of the Floral Club, member of the Gospel Choir, and was a faithful member for over 60 years.
She is survived by four sisters, Hester Avant and Laura Murphy, both of Portsmouth, Lillian Hudson of Englewood, N.J., and Gladys Reed of Brooklyn; three brothers, Robert Fields and George Fields, both of Portsmouth, and Alfred Fields of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. F.R. Williams in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial is in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at 2 p.m. today. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. for the funeral service. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
