Jack Karl Speidel, 66, of the 1500 block of Hawthorne Drive, died Dec. 2, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
He was a retired employee of Bell Atlantic where he had worked for 30 years. Mr. Speidel was a native of McKeesport, Pa., and was a member of Trinity Tabernacle in Virginia Beach. He was also a member of East McKeesport Masonic Lodge (NU)765, Scottish Rite Bodies of Khedive Temple, Drum and Bugle Corps, and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a U.S. naval veteran and Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Carlisle Speidel; daughter, Darien Conway of New Hampshire; two sons, Daniel Speidel of Manassas, Va., David Speidel of Chesapeake; five grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Cheri Wilhelm of Richmond, Va.; two stepsons, Tommy Hogge and Robert Hogge, both of Chesapeake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Olive Speidel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Tom Grinder in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, today from 3 to 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
