Royal L. Polson, 79, of the 1600 block of A St., died Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995, in a local nursing home.
A native of Gates County, N.C, he was a retired service station owner.
Survivors include his wife, Helen C. Polson; a daughter, Diana Savard of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; a sister, Ermma Leigh Mathias of Corapeake, N.C.; a brother, Coleman A. Polson of Corapeake; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Henry J. Hund. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, Portsmouth, or a favorite charity.
