Randy C. ``Country'' Vinson, 40, of the 1300 block of Green St., died Dec. 1, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
He was a construction worker for A & W Contractors and was also a former employee of the City of Portsmouth for 11 years. He was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated with honors from Commonwealth College.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryle R. Futrell-Vinson of Portsmouth; son, Darryl T. Futrell of Washington, D.C.; mother, Clarine Coston and step-father Cecil Coston, both of Portsmouth; five sisters, Aarie Lynch, Charlene Chavis, Kim Chavis, Frankie L. Hicks, and Sabrina M. Vinson, all of Portsmouth; two brothers, Richard Vinson and Corey Vinson, both of Portsmouth; life-mate, Anita L. Futrell; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Robert L. Windley in Christian Antioch Church of God in Christ, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at noon Thursday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
