Mrs. Georgie Foster Rubaiz, 96, of the 2500 block of Console Ave., died Dec. 5, 1995, in Lydia Roper Home. She will be loved and missed by many.
She formerly owned the Southern Coffee Shop in the Old Preston Hotel on Boush Street. She was a native of Mathews County, Va., and the widow of Carl W. Rubaiz. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women of the Church and the Woman's Club of Norfolk.
She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Mildred S. Dowdy of Norfolk and Mrs. Carolyn F. Harmon of Lynchburg, Va.; three nephews, Mr. William I. Foster Jr. of Virginia Beach, Mr. Glenn L. Foster of Virginia Beach and Mr. Charles Edward Foster Jr. of Mathews County; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Charles K. Blalock in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or the Lydia Roper Home.
