Noble Rogers Castleberry, 74, of the 600 block of Cunningham Road, died Dec. 6, 1995, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mr. Castleberry, a native of Cunningham, Tenn., was retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a Protestant and member of the Amateur Radio Relay League. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam as a chief warrant officer 3. He did initial testing of the A-Bomb in 1946 in Bikini Atoll, and Pacific radiation monitoring work. He was employed with the State Department of Corrections for nine years as power house superintendent in Sewage and Water Treatment.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A. Castleberry, of the home; a daughter, Sandra Chandler, of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at noon Friday in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
