Jean S. Stevens Melatti died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1995, at St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick, N.J. She was 70.
Born in Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Melatti resided in Woodside, Queens, N.Y., for many years, and Virginia Beach, before moving to Piscataway in June 1994.
Prior to her retirement in 1985, Mrs. Melatti was associated with the New York Metropolitan Opera in New York City as a singer for 20 years, and then as orchestra secretary for 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Melatti, in 1976. Surviving are a son, Robert Melatti, his wife, Carol, and his son, Mikey, of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Marisa Pierson and her husband, Ron, of Jackson, N.J., and Adriana Grech, her husband, John, and their sons Paul, John, David of Randolph, N.J.
Services will be held in New Jersey under the direction of the Brunswick Memorial Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
