CHARLES REDDING

Charles ``Melvin'' Redding, 80, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with our Lord, Dec. 5, 1995. Mr. Redding passed away in a local hospital.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had also worked with Swift and Company. He was a native of Gloucester, Va., and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where he was a member of Wesleyman's Bible Class for over 50 years. He was also a member of Bayside Masonic Lodge No. 218, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Khedive Temple. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Williamson Redding; daughter Sandra Redding Gallagher and her husband, Terry Gallagher of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Chip and Chris Gallagher, both of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Friends and family may join together at the home of Sandra and Terry Gallagher, 5151 Cypress Point Circle, Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
