James Fenton Johnson, 92, of the 200 block of Truxton Ave., died Dec. 5, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
He was a retired machinist for Allied Mills and a native of Elizabeth City, N.C. He was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was also a member of William T. Hall Memorial Singers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L.N. Johnson; two daughters, Carolyn Johnson Williams of Colorado Springs and Marolyn J. Wiggins of Portsmouth; sister, Emma Johnson Arnold of Henderson, N.C.; two grandchildren, Steven Harris of Colorado and Andre Wiggins of Portsmouth; son-in-law, Leonard Williams of Colorado; nephew, Charles Johnson of Elizabeth City; and a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam Sr. in Noble Street Baptist Church. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The family will be at 209 Truxton Ave., and will assemble there for the funeral service.
