An 18-year-old man has been charged with setting fire to an occupied home and two additional suspects are being sought.
Reginald Jerome Simpson Jr. of the 5600 block of Arvida Court was arrested Thursday and charged with malicious arson of an occupied dwelling and burglary. Other charges are pending.
The fire was reported at 1:39 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 1000 block of Trade Winds Road. While residents escaped unhurt, two pet dogs were killed in the blaze. The cause of the fire was later ruled arson.
Simpson was being held in the city jail Thursday night in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Arson investigators are seeking two more suspects.
