Johnnie Everett Harrell Sr., 74, of Route 2, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, in Suffolk.
Mr. Harrell was born in Chowan County. The son of the late Benjamin and Mrs. Fannie Oliver Harrell, he was a retired sheet finisher with Union Camp Corp. in Franklin. He was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church, the T.L. Brown Sunday School Class, and Gatesville Masonic Lodge (NU)126. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Nixon Harrell; a daughter, Joyce H. Barclift of Elizabeth City; two sons, Norman L. Harrell Sr. of Gatesville, and J.E. Harrell Jr. of Gates; two brothers, Lindsey Harrell of Windsor, N.C., and Isaac Harrell of Edenton; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Reynoldson Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Presley. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Reynoldson Baptist Church or the Gates County Rescue Squad.
