A Norfolk man was arrested and charged with murder Thursday night in connection with the slaying of 70-year-old Emanuel Mullen, police reported Friday.
He was identified as Tommy Cunningham, 32.
Cunningham, of the 2500 block of Barre St., lived at the same residence as the victim, police said. Hill did know whether the men were related.
Mullen, who had been assaulted, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital from his home Tuesday after rescuers received a call that someone had been injured.
He died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday. The state medical examiner will determine a cause of death, police said.
