MAN ARMED WITH KNIFE ROBS BOOKSTORE

A man armed with a knife robbed a bookstore Friday morning. No one was injured.

The suspect walked into The Bookhaven in the Suffolk Plaza Shopping Center on North Main Street about 9:54 a.m., according to police reports. He picked up a copy of ``Hustler'' magazine, took it to the cash register and pulled out $7 to pay for it. When the clerk opened the register, he displayed a 9-inch knife, pushed her out of the way and grabbed an undetermined amount of money from the register. He ordered the clerk to the back of the store and fled with the money and the magazine.

The suspect was described as black, about 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds, with black, curly hair and brown eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, a plum shirt and a blue jacket.
