Gladys Britt Holley, wife of the late Van Buren Holley Sr., died Friday, Dec. 8, 1995, in Chesapeake Health Care Center.
Mrs. Holley, a homemaker, was a native of Chowan County, N.C., and a member of Welch's Chapel Baptist Church, Tyner, N.C.
Survivors include four daughters, Edith Rogerson and Armicia Brown, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., Barbara Robinson of Chesapeake, Wilhelmina Glover of Rochester, N.Y.; five sons, Curtis Holley of Tyner, J. Russell Holley of Hartford, Conn., Van Buren Holley Jr. of Savannah, Ga., Donnell Holley of Freeport, N.Y., and Rotman Holley of Hemstead, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Diana Britt of Manhattan, N.Y.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Welch's Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday in Hunter's Funeral Home, Ahoskie Chapel. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
