Persons age 60 and over will be welcomed next Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. by Merrill Lynch, which will open its downtown Norfolk office to older citizens who could not otherwise afford to place telephone calls to distant family members and friends for the holidays.
Employees of Merrill Lynch will be available in their office at 999 Waterside Drive, Suite 1100, to help older persons place up to one hour of holiday long-distance calls anywhere in the world.
SEVAMP Senior Services, a Hampton Roads United Way agency, must be contacted to reserve a telephone time.
SEVAMP may also assist, where possible, in coordinating limited transportation for persons without other means to get to the Merrill Lynch office. Club, church and civic groups are asked to help.
Free parking will be available in an adjacent parking garage.
