Paul Fussell, age 40, of 4700 Kerley Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995, at home in the arms of his wife and brothers, 16 months after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
A native of Atlanta, Paul considered Durham his home. In business, Paul was quite successful. He was self-employed as a sales representative with RBL Marketing. Paul's skills were the professional standard and envy of his peers.
Although Paul loved to read, garden, golf, work, and watch ACC (Duke) basketball, it was obvious his heart belonged to his wife, Missy; and his three beautiful girls, Hilary, Bridget, and Audrey. His family also includes his father, Willis; sister, Linda; and brothers, Bruce and Matthew. Paul was taken from us by a disease, but his sharp wit, charm, and love will be with us in our hearts forever.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Paul, Missy and Matthew's home, 4700 Kerley Road in Durham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Fund, c/o Dr. Jeffrey Crawford, DUMS Box 3198, Durham, N.C. 27710, or to Triangle Hospice, 1804 MLK Blvd., Suite 112, Durham, N.C. 27707. Arrangements are with Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
