Mary L. Woodson, 75, of 3342 Greenwood Drive, died Dec. 13, 1995, in her home.
She was a member of New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Mrs. Woodson was a native of Sunbury, N.C., born Aug. 5, 1920. Her husband, David Woodson Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sisters, all of Suffolk; three sons, David Woodson Jr., Willie Savage, and Robert Woodson; four daughters, Gladys Eley, Ethel Flood, Brenda Woodson, all of Portsmouth, and Bessie Penn of Hampton, Va.; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relative and friends.
A funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1000 County Street, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Milton Blount officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Monday. Family and friends will assemble at 3342 Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth, Monday at noon for the funeral procession to the church. The place of burial will be Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery, Holland section of Suffolk. Metropolitan Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
