FITNESS QUESTERS NEAR THE END

IT'S ALL COMING down for our Fitness Quest volunteers. Coming down to Jan. 21 and the final tale of the tape and the scale. We'll find out how our intrepid three - Dawne Brooks, Reggie Towns and Carolyn Sawyer - did in their six-month quest to adapt a healthier lifestyle.

When we last checked in November, Dawne, who was 263 pounds at our first weigh-in back in July, had lost nearly 20 pounds and had noticeably improved her fitness. Reggie Towns, a former U.S. Olympic team sprinter, was getting more fit but finding it hard to shed any pounds because of his fast-food diet. For Carolyn Sawyer, the pounds (five) were coming off, but oh so slowly.

Staff writer Debra Gordon will share the high and low points (including those midnight refrigerator raids) for our three, what they learned about themsevles and what their goals are for the future.

We'll also find out how some of you did who called our BFIT line and joined Fitness Quest. We'll publish the names of all those who made the goal they pledged.

And from those names we'll announce the winner of our $500 shopping spree drawing.
