MasterCard International Inc. will give the Darden School, the University of Virginia's graduate school of business administration, $2.5 million over five years to support the school's ongoing strategic initiative focused on leadership and entrepreneurial thinking. The gift will fund three programs: an endowed professorship, the MasterCard Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership; the MasterCard Scholars program, which would provide full tuition scholarships to five MBA degree candidates each year; and a research alliance investigating fundamental business transformations in the consumer payments industry.
