Ruby Umphlett Joyner, 77, died Dec. 17, 1995, in Hillhaven Nansemond Nursing Center.
A native of Eure, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lee and Annie Perry Umphlett. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Susan Stokeld Circle, the Adult 8 Sunday School Class and the Suffolk Woman's Club.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Joyner; one sister, Virginia Hudson of Newport News; two brothers, Luther Umphlett of Franklin and Millard Umphlett of Eure, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will receive friends at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
