GEORGE CHARLTON

George Charlton, 75, of the 500 block of Brisa Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, in a Hampton hospital.

Mr. Charlton was born in Durham, England, and was a Protestant. He was a retired police officer from the Norfolk Naval Base. He was a member of the VFW (NU)3219, Fleet Reserve Association (NU)060, USS North Carolina Battleship Association, served 26 years in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War and World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Haertner Charlton and son, Rodney G. Charlton.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Linda L. Charlton of Chesapeake; a grandson, Christopher P. Charlton and his wife, Michelle, of Moyock, N.C.; a granddaughter, Missy Charlton Harris and her husband, Guy, of Suffolk.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence. Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
