Paul R. Horne Jr., 54, of the 19000 block of Farm Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1995, at his residence. He was a native of Virginia Beach and a welder at the Virginia Power Chesapeake Engineering Center. Mr. Horne was a member of Smithfield Assembly of God Church. He was a former assistant Scout Master of the Boy Scout Troop, 36, Carrollton, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Mickle Horne; a daughter, Paula M. Buss of Smithfield; two sons, Billie Ray Horne and Michael R. Horne, both of Smithfield; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. in Smithfield Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donald E. Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scout Troop, 36, Carrollton, c/o Bill Brady, 17541 Riddick Road, Smithfield, Va. 23430. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
