Letter from the city manager reporting, in accordance with Chapter 33.1-40 of the Code, of sole source procurement for replacement of the aerial ladders on fire equipment. Approved.
Letter from the city manager presenting recommendation of the City Planning Commission on the application of Philip Harman and others to close a portion of Willoughby Bay Avenue. Recommended action: Advertise for a public hearing Jan. 16, 1996. Approved.
Regular agenda
An ordinance granting permission to William E. Kent to encroach into the right of way of Virginia Beach Boulevard. Approved.
An ordinance to amend and re-ordain section 25-654 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, to add stop signs at various locations. Approved.
An ordinance authorizing the Norfolk Airport Authority to apply for and receive a federal grant to fund certain improvements at Norfolk International Airport. Approved.
An ordinance to amend and re-ordain section 1 of the 1994-95 Capital Improvement Program Budget, as amended, to add a new water utility fund project entitled ``Norfolk Naval Base Meter Vaults'' in the amount of $1,150,000 and provide the funds therefor by decreasing the Water Utility Fund project entitled ``Moores Bridges Water Treatment Plant Expansion'' by $1,150,000, from $51 million to $49,850,000. Approved.
An ordinance to amend and re-ordain section 1 of the 1991-92 Capital Improvement Program Budget, as amended, to add one additional project to the parking facilities fund projects entitled ``Parking Facilities Rehabilitation Program,'' in the amount of $1,380,096, and provide the funds therefor by decreasing the funding for the completed project entitled ``Brooke Avenue Garage'' by $1,380,096, from $8 million to $6,619,904. Approved.
An ordinance repealing section 25-660(191) of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, requiring an automated traffic signal at the intersection of Monticello Avenue and Bute Street. Approved.
An ordinance to amend and re-ordain section 2-420 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, relating to divisions in the Department of Marketing and Communications, to create and delete positions in such department, provide funds for salaries, transfer certain positions between divisions and amend the July 1, 1995, compensation and middle management plans of the city. Approved.
