SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Tournament MVP Michelle Sessoms had 22 points and 13 rebounds and LaTina Bullock had 26 points as the Norfolk State women's team won the Tropical Basketball Fest final Thursday night in a battle of unbeatens, taking a 67-63 win over Lynn University.
Norfolk State (10-0) trailed 30-26 at the half, but wore down Lynn (10-1) of Boca Raton, Fla., getting the lead for good with seven minutes to play. The Spartanettes used a 47-32 rebounding advantage, with Sessoms grabbing seven from the offensive boards.
Sessoms, LaTina Bullock and LaTrina Bullock made the all-tournament team. Norfolk State plays next Jan. 2 at Livingstone.
