Daniel Wilson Hobbs, 72, of 408 Woodruff St., died Dec. 19, 1995, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hobbs, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., was the son of the late Wilson Hobbs and Blanche Wyche Hobbs-Ferebee. He was employed at Prillaman Chemical Company, Suffolk, for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jane L. Hobbs; two daughters, Joyce M. Hobbs of Suffolk, Deborah Hobbs Turner of Norfolk; a foster son, Raiford D. Smith of Portsmouth; three granddaughters, Tanya L. Hobbs of Suffolk, Quinae L. Turner and Monchae S. Turner, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Jean Deloatch of Corone, N.Y.; five brothers, Jesse Hobbs of Capron, Va., James Hobbs of Franklin, Va., Albert Hobbs of Petersburg, Va., Alfred Hobbs of New York and Odell Ferebee of New York.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Sixth Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Anthony Copeland and the Rev. James V. Washington. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The remains of Mr. Hobbs will lie in state from noon until the hour of service. Crocker Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk, in charge.
