WILLIAM E. KELLER JR.

Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. William Eugene ``Bill'' Keller Jr., 67, died Dec. 21, 1995, in Virginia Beach Hospital.

Cmdr. Keller served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years. He was the owner of Tidewater Lapidary and remained active until his death. He was a native of Merriweater, S.C., and a member of Methodist Church in Springfield, S.C. Cmdr. Keller was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War. He served on numerous submarines and received many awards during his service time. His last duty station was Comoptevfor, which he served for nine years in Norfolk. He attended the Citadel, University of South Carolina and the Post Graduate Naval School in Monterey, Calif., where he served two tours. He taught at the Submarine School in New London, Conn.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, MaryAnn DeGuilio Keller; three daughters, Betty Jean and her husband, James F. Rinehart, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Barbara Ellen Keller Sims and her husband, Steven Joseph Sims, of Virginia Beach, Dorothy Keller Allenson and her husband, Gary Martin Allenson, of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sons, W.E. ``Bill'' Keller III and his wife, Cheryl White Keller, of Virginia Beach, John David Keller and his wife, Claudia Galindo Keller, of Norfolk; a brother, W. Wates Keller and his wife, Julia Anne, of La Grange, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Erica Rinehart, Andrew Rinehart, Kelvin Allenson, Kody Allenson, Kyler Allenson, Virginia Lynne Keller, and William Matthew Keller; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen Joseph Keller of Portsmouth; and his borther, Warlike Jeffrey Keller of Georgia. He was the son of the late Nora Fincannon Keller and William Eugene Keller Sr., both of Springfield, S.C.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Chaplain B.L. Kingwood. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded at the grave. The family will be at the funeral home today from 4 to 6 p.m.
