Michael Contrado, 82, died Dec. 23, 1995, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Contrado, a native of Norfolk, was the son of the late Pasquale and Angela Contrado. He was a veteran of World War II and was also a co-owner of Ship's Cabin Restaurant for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Edith Iantosca Contrado; four sisters, Mamie C. Beck and Mary C. Beck, both of Norfolk, Virgie C. Robertson and Antoinette Baxter, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Vincent P. Contrado of Virginia Beach; several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Julian B. Goodman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
