Alvin J. Jarrell, 70, of 550 Oakgrove Road, died Dec. 24, 1995, in Chatham Memorial Hosptial, Siler City.
Mr. Jarrell was a native of Randolph County and retired from Dick and Kirkman Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, where he taught Sunday school for 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geneva Stout Jarrell of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Kent ``Hilda'' Garner of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Roger ``Glenda'' Little of Seagrove; a son, Maxton B. Jarrell, of Newport News; three half-sisters, Mrs. Thelma Gearren and Mrs. Nancy Hurley, both of Asheboro, and Mrs. Martha Staley of Ramseur; a half-brother, Donald Rose of Archdale; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church by Dr. Ronald L. Hamilton and the Rev. Don Dawalt. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at the home.
