Returning 16 Eastern District champions make Maury the undisputed league favorite in the girls swimming race.
But some of the Commodores' best could face challenges for individual honors. Lake Taylor's Kelley and Erin Harkins could help the Titans throw a wrench in the race while Booker T. Washington and Granby struggle to rebuild.
The Bookers have a solid foundation, but are still a few years away from competing. Granby, however, may be the league dark horse if the newcomers develop quickly.
At press time, there was no information provided by Norview's team.
This is how the Eastern District girls teams should match up:

Top returnees: Donita Barnett, breaststroke, Jr.; Nichelle Bennett, butterfly, Jr.
Top newcomers: Tara Lapeza, freestyle, Jr.; Courtney Pope, freestyle, Jr.; Blair Sherwood, IM, So.
