Calvin W. Cutchin Sr., 79, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 1995, in his son's Virginia Beach residence.
Mr. Cutchin was born in Norfolk and was the husband of the late Ida Louise Miller Cutchin. He had retired from the civil service after 19 years and then the Norfolk Sheriff's Department. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Burrow's Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Paul Collins of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Idnella Graham and Shirley Swindell, both of Virginia Beach; brother, George Cutchin of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Burrows Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Harris. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at 1539 Johnston Road, Norfolk, Va. 23518. Cox Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
