FRANKLIN D. THURBON

Franklin D. Thurbon, 59, of the 3000 block of John Hancock Drive, died Dec. 27, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Thurbon was a native of West Virginia and was employed by Little Creek Amphibious Base as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electricians Union (NU)734 and of the Moose Lodge (NU)1198.

The survivors include his wife, Clara Thurbon; daughter, Cynthia Foster; a stepson, James McDaniel both of Norfolk, stepson, Kent McDaniel of Suffolk; stepdaughter, Erline Harmon of Virginia Beach; two stepdaughters, Karen McDaniel and Lydia Whitlow, both of North Carolina; one brother, George Thurbon of Maryland; two sisters, Thelma McCan and Joy Thorn of West Virginia; two sisters, Alice Page and Mary Parrish of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His body was donated to the University of Virginia for research. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church, Rosemont Road, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the National Cancer Society.
