Edmond E. Maitland Sr., 67, of the 5600 block of Larry Ave., died Dec. 30, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
He was a native of Columbia, N.C. and a member of Freewill Baptist Church. He was a self-employed painter and he also worked for the city of Virginia Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Maitland; son, Edmond E. Maitland Jr. and wife Delores of Virginia Beach; sister, Myrtle Stanton of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Daniel and Jessica of Virginia Beach; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Virginia Beach. Friends may join the family at the Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at their home at other times.
