Elizabeth Johnson Lanier Gee, of the 500 block of Ashton Ave., died Dec. 30, 1995.
A native of Northampton County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late E.D. ``Buck'' and Sue Watson Johnson. She was the widow of Alden H. Gee. Mrs. Gee was predeceased by her first husband, Glenn Lanier. She was a graduate of East Carolina University and was a former third-grade teacher in Franklin. She was a retired salesperson at Leggett Department Store and was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Joseph ``Joe'' Lanier of Franklin; stepson, Alden H. ``Dickie'' Gee Jr. of Eastville, Va.; two first cousins, Neutron Watson and C.J. Watson, both of Conway, N.C.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Roy DeBrand. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Wright Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be made to The American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
