Mary Lousie Ricks Aekins, 80, formerly of the 100 block of W. 34th St., died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, in Sentara Village Nursing Center.
She was a native of Ivor, Va., and the daughter of Katie Ricks. She was the widow of Samuel A. Aekins Sr.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Johnson-Tardy, Inayah Abdul-Khabeer, Ella Woddard, all of Norfolk, Barbara J. Sivells of Virginia Beach, Charlotte Ruth Sullivan of Portsmouth and Irene Bright of Ohio; three sons, Samuel Aekins Jr. and Lloyd Aekins of Ohio and Sahib Abdul Salaam of Norfolk; 45 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Riddick Funeral Service. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at 723 Red Mill Road. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
