Lacelle Jernigan Parker, 68, of the 200 block of Cashie St., died Dec. 30, 1995, in Winston Park Nursing Home, Windsor, N.C.
She was born in Bertie County and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as postmistress of Lewiston Woodville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lewiston Woodville.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie P. Gunnells of Harrellsville and Linda P. Sermons of Plymouth; three sisters, Ramona Bazemore of Port Charlotte, Fla., Evelyn Parker of Lewiston Woodville and Doyle Long of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Joseph Hubert Jernigan Jr. of Graceville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Lewiston Woodville by the Rev. Blake Hayes. Burial will be in Hoggard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Cecil and Evelyn Parker in Lewiston. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O.
