STUCK AGAIN WITH THE BILL

I have been voting in presidential elections for 50 years. I do not claim to be a member of either party. I have always worked for and voted for the individual who I felt would do the most good for our country.

I have become disenchanted with all presidents since Harry Truman. As soon as they are sworn in they immediately appoint themselves king of the world.

They have given our tax dollars away for every little whim that other countries can dream up. We have poured money down rat holes all over the world.

King Bush in his re-election bid sent our troops to Somalia, which turned out to be a disaster. We are now caught up in King Clinton's re-election effort of putting troops in a civil war in Bosnia: estimated cost to you and me - $2 billion to $3 billion. Plus the king wants to send more than $800 million in aid to Bosnia. Wouldn't it be great if that money were spent on education or Medicare in this country? After all, we are talking about our tax dollars.

The only war our president and Congress should fight is the war on the deficit.
