LATE AGAIN

During the holiday season, we have been exposed to constant advertising by the U.S. Postal Service telling us how friendly, efficient and fast its service is.

Why, then, did it take an invitation postmarked Dec. 7, sent to me from my own ZIP code, 11 days to reach me? Unfortunately, the invitation was to a party held the night before I received the invitation!

Also, a Christmas card with a check in it, postmarked Dec. 5 from Massachusetts, took 10 days to reach me and caused untold worry and concern on the part of the sender.

These are just two occasions where mail was in the Postal Service Never-Never Land.

Perhaps USPS would be wiser to invest the money spent on television advertising in making its operation truly efficient and fast!
