Hubert L. ``Buddy'' Miller, 81, died Jan. 3, 1996.
Mr. Miller, a retired superintendant for South Norfolk Mosquito Control, worked for the City of Chesapeake. He was a native of Munden Point, which was Old Princess Anne County. He was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church for the past 46 years. He was the record secretary of the Sunday school of South Norfolk Baptist Church. He served on the property committee, and served as an usher of the church for many years. He was a member of the South Norfolk Old Timers Club. Mr. Miller served as an apprentice boilermaker for the Norfolk and Southern Railway. He was an outside machinist for the Old Dominion Marine Railway, which was in Berkley. He later owned and operated Miller's Texaco and Miller's Esso in the Berkley Section of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ray B. Miller; a son, Clyde L. Miller of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Martin L. Miller of Atlanta, and Michael A. Miller of Chesapeake; and a nephew, Wayne Nash of Chesapeake.
The funeral will conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Roger Mardis and the Rev. Frank Hughes Jr. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today and will be at the home of his son, 1309 Kay Ave., Chesapeake, Va., at other times.
