Police bomb technicians removed three devices that appeared to be German grenades from a home in the 4500 block of James Court on Thursday.
Investigators initially went to the residence about 5:30 p.m. for an investigation about a stolen car. While inside, they saw the grenades.
Police closed off the area for several hours but evacuated no homes. A robot was used to retrieve the grenades, which were taken to an undisclosed location for disposal.
No charges were immediately filed as a result of the discovery, but the Virginia Beach Fire Department is continuing its investigation. by CNB
