Sarah Midgette Cahoon Perry, 90, of Edenton, N.C., died Jan. 4, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Perry, a loving wife, mother and homemaker, was born in Hyde County, N.C. She lived her entire life in North Carolina, a dedicated Christian. She was a member of Edenton First Assembly of God. Sarah Perry was the widow of Lindon Cahoon, who passed away in 1960, and Jesse Perry, who passed away in 1986, to whom she married at age 70 after 14 years of widowhood. Her eldest daughter, Thelma Cahoon Hudson, is now deceased.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie C. Carraway of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Linwood Hudson and John Carraway; two great-grandchildren; a niece, Nancy Brickhouse; nephew, Audrey Ballance, whom she raised for a time in her home; a host of other nieces and nephews; half-sister, Cora Chessom of Plymouth, N.C.; a stepdaughter; and a multitude of adoring friends who will miss her terribly.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Evans Funeral Home, Edenton. Friends may join the family for visitation at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home before the service.
