Rhoda Ann McGlone Howard, 93, of the 2600 block of Myrtle Ave., died Jan. 7, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was a retired cook for the Norfolk Community Hospital where she worked for 16 years. She was the widow of James B. Howard Sr. and a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Mrs. Howard was a native of Norfolk.
She is survived by four daughters, Vernice E. Howard of Washington, D.C., Dolores H. Prichard of Virginia Beach, Doris S. Howard and Mable L. Howard, both of Noroflk; son, Vernon M. Howard of Miami, Fla.; brother, Kenneth H. Williams of Norfolk; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; two daughters-in-law, Dorothea W. Howard, Villetta J. Howard; son-in-law, Oscar C. Pritchard; five sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by two sons, James B. Howard Jr. and Arthur V. Howard.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday by the Rev. Calvin W. James, associate minister, in First Calvary Baptist Church. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
